Welcoming and Fulfilling Rural Dog Walking Service
I provide reliable, supervised exercise and loving care for your pups to keep them happy and active during the times that you can't. Here at Nellie & The Pack I specialise in rural, countryside walks in the local area. Whether you have a working dog, high-energy dog or a dog that loves to be out in nature, I'm the walker for you. I try to keep the walks as enriching and interesting as possible, that's why I choose as many different locations as I can find.
What To Expect
Before taking your pooch on a walk we must ensure that I have all the appropriate information about your dog. This will consist of any allergies, emergency contact details, personality traits, and any other important information. This conversation will take place at the meet and greet, where you can get to know me and I can get to know you and your pooch (or pooches). Please fill out the customer intake form before the meet and greet.
I'm a true believer in getting to know a dog and building trust before letting them off the lead (if permitted) to do their own thing. I have long lines in various lengths so they can have their own space, but in a controlled manner, until we've built a solid relationship.
To keep the walks as interesting as possible, the routes will change regularly and will be personalised to your dogs needs. For the swimmers, I'll pick routes with plenty of swimming opportunities (when weather allows). For the hunters, routes with long grass and plenty of hiding spots for dummies and scent toys.
A Little About Me
Hi, I'm Rosie, founder of Nellie & The Pack. My whole life I've grown up around dogs and various animals, having the privilege of learning to care for and understand them. Like most dog walkers, I've always loved dogs and couldn't imagine my life without them. I understand how hard it can be when it comes to choosing a dog walker, or someone to come and look after your baby. Trusting someone with such an important member of your family is not easy, and I've stopped using a doggy daycare before because I saw they were using a long line on Nellie's collar! When setting up my business I wanted to make sure to tick as many boxes as possible. I've spared no expense when it comes to safely transporting your pooch, with crash tested crates and doggy seatbelts. Your dog's safety is my top priority. When it comes to the finer details, I thought long and hard about what I would want for Nellie in a dog walker and have tried my absolute best to fulfil every one. I'm fully insured to be able to walk up to 6 dogs at a time, although to keep the pack calm and ensure every dog is receiving enough attention, my group limit is 4 dogs. I've completed a level 3 qualification in canine first aid, and I'm DBS checked. I only plan on gaining extra qualifications over time.
The Heart Behind the Pack
Apart from my love for animals and the outdoors, my journey began with Nellie, my working line Labrador Retriever. She was a pretty challenging puppy because I hadn't yet realised the importance of breed-specific training. At the time, unbeknownst to us, we weren't fully meeting her instinctual needs. So, at seven months old, we started gun-dog training together. Within a few weeks, she transformed into a much calmer, more settled, less bitey, and happier girl . This experience taught me that the right balance of structure and mental stimulation is the key to a happy pup. I founded Nellie & The Pack to help other owners provide that essential enrichment and exercise, making life feel significantly easier and more harmonious for both dogs and their humans. My goal is to bring that same sense of balance and specialised care to every pup I walk. Becoming part of Nellie and The Pack isn't just about going for a walk, it's about giving your pooch the mental stimulation to scratch their breed specific itch!
